dear secret yuletide author friend,

thanks for offering to write a story for one of my requests! i hope you have a lot of fun (ok, as fun as stressful deadline omg can be) writing it.

i don't have a lot to say but here are my requests again and a few notes.

Fandom: Ellen Kushner - Swordspoint series

Characters: Alec Campion/Richard St Vier

Details: I fell in love with these two this year and I didn't want to let go. I'm open on where in the timeline this story is set. Early days, even pre-"Swordspoint," is fine but so is the Mad Duke days or the very end. I would enjoy inclusion of some of the female characters, particularly Katherine (Tremontaine). Wry wit, sarcasm, angst, cleverness, cruelty at the service of vulnerability, sex, disguise - all of these things come to mind when I consider this request. Happy ending not required.

i don't know if this is helpful or unhelpful but i don't want to steer you in one direction or another. hopefully you offered this fandom because you love the story and the characters and their wicked-twisty love (ok, alec's wicked-twisty love. richard is a bit more simple, though not so simple as people think) and anything that serves it will be delightful.

Fandom: Whip It (movie)

Characters: Bliss Cavendar aka Babe Ruthless/Pash

Details: I'd like to see a story about their relationship. Platonic or romantic; though I feel like the movie was at times pointing to the romantic in a big way. General shenanigans with them and the other derby girls would be great though I'm not interested in involving Bliss' boyfriend or any jealousy/tension he might bring to the girls' relationship. Angsty and emo is OK, happy and cracked out is also great. I loved these characters and the voice of the film.

this movie made me happy. i love the humor and, while some of the plotlines where cliche and blah, the spirit of it came through bright and shining. but there wasn't enough girl love. bring it.

Fandom: Nurse Jackie (tv)

Characters: Eleanor OHara/Jackie Peyton/Mohammed de la Cruz aka Mo-Mo/Zoey Barkow

Details: I'm not as interested in the romantic themes on this show as I am in the day-to-day workings of the hospital and staff. A day in the life type story featuring Jackie at her neurotic best. I'm totally ok with drug use but if you do include it in the story I'd prefer for it to not have a moralistic/dramatic conclusion. Backstory on the other characters would be great as there isn't a lot of that in the show.

not much to add here. i like sarcasm. my favorite line of jackie's is, "I don't like chatty. I don't do chatty. I like quiet. Quiet and mean -- those are my people."

Request: David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (album)

Songs: Any

Details: If you get this request - go crazy. As crazy as you want to go. Don't feel like you have to force a plot. Keep Bowie himself out of it if possible - I want to read about Ziggy. Anything goes.

dude. if you are awesome brave enough to take this one on i am fascinated to see what you come up with. i have no particular urge for it to be set in or influenced by the time period during which the album was released but if that floats your spaceship, by all means go for it.

general notes: christmas isn't my thing. i don't celebrate it and never have so if you can avoid writing a christmas story that would be awesome. i'm also not huge on the porn. i don't hate it but i'm more interested in gen character dynamics. if you enjoy writing explicit stuff please feel free but don't force it. i don't have any major squicks that i think might come up in these stories... like i said above; serve the story and the characters and the madness and it will be wonderful.
